TENN STREET MUSIC CALENDAR SEPTEMBER 2017

  • 2ND AND 4TH FRI     7PM - 9PM    EDDIE'S ELECTRIC JAM SESSION- Join Eddie and any number of guitarists, bassists, keyboard players and vocalists from our neighborhood and around the region. We set up outside or take over the bookstore to play lots of standards, open-ended blues and jazz riffs, and just have fun.        
  • SAT 02    10AM-12PM    MOSES WALKER - CO-WINNER OF THE SOLO/DUO COMPETITION PRIZE AT THE IBC COLORADO BLUES CHALLENGE!  YEE-HAW! His music has been described as a mixture of blues, folk, jazz and a many other influences such as Tom Waits, Leon Redbone, Jack Daniels and buddah - the list goes on and on.  One thing is for sure, Moses' interpretation of the songs he plays, is all his own! Moses is back at Tenn Street, to continue his mission of spreading joy and having fun.         
  • SAT 02    7PM-9PM    PARIS SWING SET - Special Tenn Street performance from this Gypsy Jazz trio.  Gypsy Jazz is a musical style started by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli in the 1930's. It is infectious, danceable jazz with a European flavor, inspired by American swing but for a small ensemble of usually guitar, violin and bass. Reach the artist at: paris@parisswingset.com       
  • SUN 03    2PM-4PM    GRACIE AND BLUE, INC. is a duo, featuring vocalist Gracie Batt and Don Batt on guitar and vocals. Gracie & blue, inc. plays the hit parade of the 20th Century, including jazz, blues, and latin standards, in the styles of such artists as Diana Krall, Rosemary Clooney, and Billie Holiday.       
  • SAT 09    7PM-9PM    SECOND OPINION  -  John Bundy and his friends perform an eclectic variety of folk, blues and vintage rock standards, historical pieces and Irish folk tunes and music of their own composition. Recently seen at Ziggies, the Cricket, Kokopelli's and Cannon Mine cafe.   
  •  3RD FRI SEPT. 15     6PM-9PM    Art from Ashes, Blissfest333 and Tenn Street Coffee & Books Presents: 3RD FRIDAY OPEN MIC!   • SAT 16    10AM-12PM    THE HOAGIES- Acoustic swing from the 30's and 40's.  Favorites from Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Louis Jordan, Fats Waller, and the great singer and songwriter Hoagy Carmichael, all pounded out on guitar, mandolin and bass.  Listen to us at hoagiesjoint.com, then catch the action at Tenn Street.       
  • SAT 16    7PM-9PM    GREG PRICE is an excellent guitarist who plays an eclectic, finger-style mixture of original material, cover tunes and blues that includes both instrumentals and vocals 
  • SAT 23    10AM-12PM     FRED POINDEXTER started playing music in Chicago on various early instruments such as clarinet,piano,drums, guitar and harmonica. He's worked in different genres from pop, folk, alternative as well as composing on the acoustic guitar which is a favorite passion of mine. Some instrumental and some songs with vocals covering different genres.    
  • SUN 24    10AM-12PM    MARK HUTCHINSON- grew up in Denver and his musical influences range from folk to blues, jazz and R&B. Mark was educated as a musician and counts decades of experience as a music educator on many levels. He has played in many Denver-area bands including West of Greenwich, Moze Gun Dog, OTC Varmitz and Clam Daddys. When Mark plays solo his music can be eclectic and surprising. Come to tap your feet, snap your fingers, sing along and enjoy! 
  •  SAT 30     7PM-9PM    JIM WANSTRATH - Sings and plays six-string acoustic and National resonator guitars. Covers a diverse mix of blues, folk, bluegrass, jazz, pop and classic rock favorites.
